The Last Edit function enables users to re-apply the last presets used from within Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom Classic. Nik Collection 4 has expanded fast-retouching features. Both Viveza and Silver Efex Pro plugins now have a more streamlined interface and redesigned Control. There are 10 Meta Presets available with Nik Collection 4. Meta Presets can also be used to edit photos with a series of presets from several plugins with just a single click. These special presets appear as Adobe Photoshop actions that combine the filters and settings of several Nik Collectionplugins into one mega-effect. Another new tool has been added to Nik Collection 4 that enables Adobe Photoshop users to access Meta Presets. Effects can even be renamed so that workflows can be customized. The Control Points are now easier to use and have fewer sliders, making the applied effects easier to view. Colors can be changed while adjusting the tolerance of similar colored hues. The U Point technology also includes a new Color Tolerance setting that can regulate the saturation of a specific tonal range. For example, users can choose to apply a color effect as well as a blurred background to several similar portraits easily. The new U Point technology can apply the same style to several images while still preserving the area selected. Now Control Points can be incorporated into personalized presets. The U Point technique revolutionized the way photos can be altered in specific areas. Nik’s U Point technology was the first photo-editing tool that enabled image editors to use multiple Control Points that can apply local adjustments to an image without the need for complicated masks. The U Point technology enables the effects to be applied selectively. The latest version of Nik Silver Efex Pro enables iconic film simulations to be added to a photo. Both plugins enable users to seamlessly access the presets and filters to make producing creative effects much easier. The two plugins have been entirely revamped to offer an improved user experience with a more up-to-date interface with many new functions. The other new plugin is Nik Silver Efex Pro, probably the world’s most advanced plugin for creating stunning black-and-white conversions from color photos. The first rewritten plugin is Nik Viveza, a dedicated tool for selectively adjusting the tone and color of a digital image such as the tone, hue and color of a blue sky. Two of the plugins have also been completely rewritten and given a brand-new interface. MORE FOR YOUĪll the plugins in Nik Collection 4 have been updated to ensure they are compatible with the latest image-editing packages. It’s now an advanced toolbox of Photoshop plugins for creative photographers and includes tools for color manipulation, black-and-white conversions, HDR rendering, analog film simulations and lots more. Nik Collection 4 now features Meta Presets, more than 250 professional-grade presets, improved U Point technology and new sophisticated editing tools. Today DxO is launching the latest version of the Nik suite of plugins. and white conversion plugin has a sleek new interface and presets for making convincing black and white images, including film grain simulation. The Silver Efex Pro plugin is part of the new Nik Collection 4 by DxO suite of plugins. In the field of digital imaging software, DxO is the gold standard and has decades of experience in testing and benchmarking digital cameras and lenses to provide software that can correct the distortions created by lenses and tame the noise produced by digital camera sensors. DxO stepped into the breach and bought the Nik Collection source code from Google and set about updating the package so it could run properly again on industry-standard software like Photoshop. Thankfully, Nik Collection was eventually rescued by DxO, a developer of imaging software. Without any maintenance and development, Nik Collection withered on the vine and the plugins ended up no longer working with newer versions of Adobe’s image editing like Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC. Sadly, Google wasn’t so keen on keeping Nik Collection up to date and it ended up giving the plugins away for free. Nik Software was so good that Google eventually snapped the company up so it could get its hands on the excellent SnapSeed photo-editing app for smartphones. The Nik Collection plugins were launched 25 years ago and soon built a massive following from digital photographers who love their extensive range of special effects and the creativity that the Nik plugins provided.
